Landlord Partnerships

If you are a landlord of a rental property, we hope you will consider renting out your property to program participants of Union Station Homeless Services. Your partnership with us will directly make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community.

Landlord Partnerships

There are many benefits to partnering with our housing programs. One of the biggest benefit is knowing what a huge impact your support will make on your community. Getting people into housing is the most effective solution to our city’s homeless crisis.

Why should landlords partner with USHS?

landlord
  • DECREASE VACANCY RATES: Because we have a large pool of potential tenants available, we can fill your vacancies swiftly. Additionally, there is low turnover with our potential tenants.

  • INCREASE PROFITS: By reducing your turnover, you eliminate cleaning costs, repair costs, showing costs, and reduce potential revenue loss while the unit is on the market.

  • SECURITY DEPOSITS: Our agency assists tenants with much needed security deposits.

  • SUPPORT SERVICES: Each of our tenants is assigned a care coordinator who is responsible for providing regular case management support while tenants reintegrate into their communities.

  • ELIMINATE ADVERTISING COSTS: By working with our agency, you have access to a pool of tenants who are ready and eager to move in.

Why we need landlords to partner with us

We need landlords to partner with us in renting tenants who have been connected with one of the following subsidies:

  • Time-Limited Subsidies/Rapid Rehousing Subsidies - USHS provides time-limited rental assistance and case management support to program participants experiencing homelessness while they gain stability and begin taking over their rental payments. The length and level of assistance is based on need, which is regularly assessed in collaboration with the tenant, their care coordinator, and our funders.

  • Homelessness Prevention Subsidies - USHS provides time-limited rental assistance, including rental arrears, and case management support for program participants who are at risk of homelessness or eviction. The length and level of assistance is based on need, which is regularly assessed in collaboration with the tenant, their care coordinator, and our funders.

  • Housing Vouchers/Subsidies provided by Housing Authorities - USHS provides ongoing intensive case management and care coordination support for program participants with long-term housing vouchers/subsidies. Although USHS is not the entity responsible for providing the subsidy, USHS staff are available to assist tenants and landlords in working with local housing authorities. The exception is our Holly Street Housing program as USHS is responsible for providing long-term tenant-based rental assistance and ongoing case management support for participants enrolled in that program.
