Katie Hill

Chief Executive Officer

Katie Hill brings extensive leadership experience, policy expertise, and a long-standing commitment to solving homelessness to her role as Chief Executive Officer of Union Station Homeless Services. Over the course of her career, she has held senior positions in two of Los Angeles County’s largest homeless service organizations—PATH and HOPICS—where she oversaw strategic planning, managed budgets of up to $100 million, and led large teams in designing and implementing evidence-based programs.

Beyond her direct service work, Katie’s tenure as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives gave her valuable insights into the legislative process, enabling her to engage effectively with policymakers, funders, and community stakeholders. She has a proven ability to build strategic alliances, secure public funding, and advocate for inclusive policies that address the root causes of homelessness.

Most recently, Katie was appointed to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Commission, where she will be working to reform policies and systems, to ensure effective utilization of increased public resources. This includes removal of bureaucratic barriers, increased accountability, and representing the perspective of direct service providers.

Katie Hill’s leadership philosophy emphasizes the importance of equity, inclusion, and integrating the voices of those with lived experience into policy and programming decisions. Her leadership approach is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast belief that homelessness is solvable. Under Katie’s guidance, Union Station Homeless Services is poised to strengthen partnerships, scale proven interventions, and move ever closer to ending homelessness in Los Angeles County.
