A Stepping Stone For Families

The USHS Family Center provides a safe place to call home while families transition into permanent housing.

Union Station Homeless Services proudly operates one of the only family shelters in the San Gabriel Valley, providing a safe space for families striving to secure stable housing. Our Family Center is a sanctuary where families can regroup, rebuild, and refocus on their goals.

It’s easy to disregard other points of life and self-care when safety and security are not addressed. The Family Center provides a stable and safe environment for parents and children so they can focus on work, school, planning for their future, and making new family memories. USHS’ comprehensive supportive services ensure that each family has access to the tools and resources they need to create sustainable futures. With 50 beds, USHS can keep the family units together, which is important during times of transition. Unfortunately, 50 beds do not meet the needs of all the unhoused families in the San Gabriel Valley. With rising housing costs and inflation, more families are forced out of their homes.

Continued budget cuts threaten to take away resources which includes housing navigation, motel vouchers, and rental assistance, leaving families with minimal resources and pathways to locate and sustain permanent housing.
