Annual
Report.
FY 2024 - 2025
A Letter from our CEO.
The year has highlighted just how much work is needed in the homeless sector, with over 70,000 people relying on organizations like USHS. Most importantly, I’ve recognized how dedicated our community is to one another and Union Station.
We helped over 4,000 people with services and moved 1,042 people into permanent housing by navigating available homes, providing subsidized payments up until self-sufficiency, providing money management training, and funding for household necessities like cleaning supplies, cookware, furniture, and bedding.

Our Food Services program served over 700,000 meals across our sites, outreach efforts, and community events.
We also welcomed many new supporters through intimate gatherings and reconnected with longtime community partners.
A year ago, our community experienced the devastating Eaton Fire. Through the tragedy, I witnessed extraordinary resilience. I am extremely proud of our USHS team for stepping up immediately, transforming our Adult Center into a central resource hub, and providing much-needed emergency essentials to our impacted neighbors. Our community came with strength and compassion, and we remain committed to standing with them.
The Eaton Fire Housing Assistance program connects people to stable housing, covers unexpected fire-related expenses, replaces furniture, and, most importantly, restores hope.
I want to thank you for standing with us this year. I’m confident your support will help us get through the new year with resilience and the ability to serve those who need us most.
Union Station has adapted to change over the years, and our commitment to the community will always remain the same: to meet people where they are, provide supportive services, and help rebuild lives.
Thank you for your continued support. Your partnership makes our work possible.
With respect, gratitude, and deep appreciation,
Our Programs.
Union Station Homeless Services is the lead service provider in the San Gabriel Valley, delivering housing solutions, essential services, and long-term support to help individuals and families achieve long-term stability. Clients are paired with case managers who ensure they have access to the tools and resources needed to move into permanent housing and remain housed through rental subsidies, eviction prevention, financial well-being planning, and continued food assistance.
Housing insecurity in Los Angeles County remains at crisis levels, with rising rents, limited affordable housing, and unstable funding support. Navigating complex housing processes can be overwhelming. Union Station provides programs through trauma-informed care that combine housing placement with ongoing support to help maintain stability.

Short-term housing is a temporary solution for participants to receive basic needs, like food and shelter.
Participants are linked with community resources and obtain essential documents with the help of their Caseworker, while Housing Navigators connect participants to permanent housing resources. Services are available to participants on a case-by-case basis, depending on client needs, housing availability, and access to resources.
We operate seven temporary housing locations in Pasadena, El Monte, and Northeast Los Angeles:

Permanent Supportive Housing is critical for many, as the journey continues beyond placement. Case Managers assist participants with housing stabilization and retention, care coordination, and community integration.

Union Station Homeless Services understands the importance of food and nutrition and how it affects individuals and families on their journey to stability and sustainability. Our agency has created a Food Services program that addresses this issue both internally, for our clients and program participants, as well as through outreach services spanning across the San Gabriel Valley from El Sereno through Pomona.
Our Food Services program has been designed to be both steady and adaptable. Steady, in that people know they can count on us for meals every day: in shelters, through outreach, and at community sites. Adaptable, in that we pivot fast when the unexpected happens. We’re building more partnerships with grocers and restaurants to save good food from being wasted, adding volunteer spots so neighbors can pitch in, offering classes on cooking and nutrition, and training people for jobs in commercial kitchens. It’s about more than feeding people in the moment. It’s about helping them move toward lasting food security.
